Toronto, an international mecca for business, finance, arts, and culture, is recognized as one of the world's most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities. Toronto's skyline, perched on the shores of Lake Ontario, featured in this design, is not only one of the most impressive in the world, but also one of the most architecturally diverse - with buildings spanning from the early 1800's up to the present, and yes an airport! 

Indigenous peoples, including the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe have travelled through and inhabited the Toronto area for more than 10,000 years. The Mowhawk named the area 'tkaronto', meaning "where there are trees standing in the water."
