With 48 vibrant colours in 15ml tubes to choose from, the Irodori opaque watercolour assortment is a selection of the most beloved Traditional Colours of Japan. Traditional Colours of Japan find their beauty in the changing of the seasons, with delicate colour tones based upon history and colour names born from nature. Production of Irodori is specifically designed so that every colour granulates and is more opaque than contemporary watercolour, two traits commonly found in Japanese Watercolor paintings. Holbein Irodori delivers stunning opaque colour with outstanding handling qualities and excellent lightfast ratings.

The high gum Arabic content of Irodori will deliver exceptional covering power, and unlike traditional moist transparent watercolour, Irodori will not adhere to your palette once dry. Holbein recommends that when using Irodori, artists should only squeeze out what is needed for immediate use and store the balance in the tube.
