Drawing inspiration from fantasy, art history, fairy tales, pop culture and science fiction, Jasmine Becket-Griffith’s darkly whimsical paintings have enchanted audiences the world over. Unflaggingly creative, she is constantly generating new ideas and artworks from her studio in Celebration, Florida. In this playful homage to Salvador Dalí, Becket-Griffith combines the world of Alice in Wonderland with that of the Surrealist, placing Lewis Carrol’s wide-eyed heroine amongst some of Dalí’s most iconic images. What might at a glance seem a curious – albeit delightful – pairing is ultimately rather a fitting one, particularly given Dalí’s affinity for this classic children’s tale.
