The Reference in the art world since 1492 and a standard of high-end publishing papers, Velin d'Arches has a pronounced fine grain that is ideal for academic drawing. It allows the artist to play with the surface, to obtain relief effects, and is easily erasable without linting. This paper has a very good mechanical strength, and is a pleasure to use with a soft and supple feel. Lightly sized, Velin d'Arches can also be used for a variety of printing techniques and is greatly appreciated by artists and publishers for its “love” of ink.

Great for use with pencil, pastel, charcoal, sanguine crayon, felt pen, lithography, intaglio engraving, relief printing, linocut, letterpress, screen-printing, blind embossing, hot-foil stamping, bookbinding, and collotype printing.

Made on a cylinder mould, the slow turning of the cylinder enables the fibres to be deposited evenly and spread in all directions over the wire. The paper is homogeneous, and has very good dimensional stability. When printing, the job of positioning the humidified paper is much easier and the paper can easily withstand repeated passages through the press. Only papermaking on a cylinder mould can produce paper with deckle edges.
